Light curve of Betelgeuse by the Himawari-8/9 meteorological satellites
- Original Paper:
- Photometric catalog for each date (csv):
- Photometric catalog after binning (csv):
- Figures of the light curves: black and blue dots represnt original and binned data points, respectively.
- Only the data after January 2017 can be used. (Before that, bias was large)
- See this page for more detail.
- The operation of Himawari-8 finished on December 13th, 2022, and Himawari-9 is in operation now. We are analyzing and checking the Himawari-9 data.
- The data before 2022/12/13 04:50 was taken by Himawari-8, and data after that was taken by Himawari-9.
- Currently, we haven't carefully validated the Himawari-9 data, so please be careful (Maybe there is a bias between Himawari-8/9 photometries).
- For details on the replacement of operational observation satellites, please refer to the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) website.
- Data from around 2025/10/12 to 2025/11/26 04:50 (UTC) were taken by Himawari-8, instead of Himawari-9.
